Environmental Science
This Resource page is dedicated to the Environmental Science Associates Degree that I am currently in the process of earning at Columbus State Community College. In short, my employer has sent me back to school to acquire the ‘industry’ knowledge needed to woo a potential customer (numerous states actually) that currently employs a piece of our company’s software in the environmental space. As a result, I thought it would fun and interesting to post the various homework assignments, quizzes, and tests that I endured in each of the required courses. In the back of my mind, I can’t help feeling like Daniel being sentenced to the lion’s den as I endure these classes.
***09/04/2020 UPDATE***
Due to COViD-19, I was forced to withdraw from the spring class which was Municipal & Industrial Pollution. Additionally, because I cannot handle online classes, I did not re-enroll for the fall semester. Hopefully, the spring semester will allow me to return to the classroom and resume my Associates Degree work.
Introduction to Environmental Science
This course provides an overview of environmental science, with an emphasis on environmental issues and solutions to environmental problems. Topics include ecological concerns, human health effects from toxic exposures, energy use, air, water and soil pollution, solid and hazardous waste issues, and occupational safety and health.
Here are the four quizzes that were administered throughout the course.
Environmental Laws & Regulations
This course presents a study of American political institutions and the evolution of environmental laws, as well as a study of federal, state and local codes and regulations as they apply to the protection of the environment.
The text book was a doozy at about 800+ pages. Just a little light nighttime reading.
The following downloads represent the teachers notes provided to the students for each of the syllabus defined reading assignments.
These final three downloads are projects I completed (Can You Get Away from the Man and the Acronym List) and a presentation shown by the instructor (Climate Change Issues).
